Check whether a vendor's quote is legal
Enter the Basic, DA and allowances from the quotation. The checker tests them against the state minimum wage and the wage rules, then shows the cost the quote leaves out.

Get an email when minimum wages change in your state
Most states revise in April and October, some in January and July. We email you once per revision, with the new rates and the effect on a typical CTC.
Indicative calculation from the minimum wage on file for 7 October 2026 and the statutory rates on the methodology page. Not legal advice. Check the current state notification before you pay or contract.
How it works
- Select the state and skill category on the contract. The minimum wage comes from the state notification for that category.
- Copy the vendor's Basic, DA, HRA and allowances. Use monthly figures for a 26-day month.
- Review the audit. A quote can look cheap because it splits the gross so Basic + DA falls below the minimum, or because it omits gratuity, bonus and leave cover.
What makes a quote non-compliant?
Basic plus DA below the notified minimum wage, HRA below 5% of Basic + DA in Maharashtra and West Bengal, or allowances larger than the gross.
What is the 50% wage rule?
Under the Code on Wages, if allowances exceed 50% of total remuneration, the excess is treated as wages. PF, gratuity and bonus are then worked on the higher base, which raises the real cost of a quote that loads allowances.
Why compare on full-load CTC?
Vendors price different things into the monthly rate. The full-load line adds every statutory liability to every quote, so the numbers are like for like.
